Kansas City's Ultimate Strongman II
After last year’s success, we brought back our second Kansas City’s Ultimate Strongman on Veteran’s Day weekend (11/15/2025). We had four fantastic events.
First up was the Max Trap Bar Deadlift (handles at 16”). We established Missouri state records in each class. Matt Loughner once again do,inmates the show with a very impressive 500kg/1102lb deadlift that also won him the 1000$ prize for the top deadlift of the day! The second event was the Carry and Load Medley sponsored by our good friends at Be You Bioidenticals. This featured a 30ft course with a zercher yoke carry, a stone carry and load, and a sandbag carry and load.
The third event was a Max Distance Sandbag Throw.
The final event was the Log Press Ladder. There were three consecutive logs with increasing weight to be completed as many times as possible within 60 seconds.
We had a record 49 athletes registered and had the USS president Willie Wessels as a special guest to witness the 500kg. On top of that we raised money for a great cause which is to help fund a non profit local adoption agency Zoe’s House Adoption Agency which does excellent work with expectant mothers, foster care, and adoption. Everyone seemed to enjoy their time and the meet was run efficiently and without hiccups.
The 2025 Strongest Outlaw
The 2025 Strongest Outlaw was part two of the successful 2024 Strongest Outlaw done at the new Competing 4 Life gym (previously The Forge Strength Gym) in Lee’s Summt. Once again this was a novice only meet to encourage new faces to try the sport and had two divisions for the men and two for the women’s. The events: this meet opened with a wagon wheel max deadlift, then log clean and press for reps, a yoke and sled arm over arm pull medley, and finished off with a sandbag carry for max distance. It was a fun atmosphere and the winners took home custom made axes.
Kansas City's Ultimate Strongman
This event was the first sanctioned meet Centaur Strength hosted with USS strongman with multiple divisions and all kinds of levels of experience. The meet had five events, the lever deadlift, the max overhead yoke press for the men and the max overhead cambered bar for the women, a “death by grip” medley, a sandbag throw sponsored directly from Cerberus Strength USA.
The final event was the Atlas stone over the bar with the best lift of the day going to Matt Loughner who lifted a 423lb stone over 48” winning him the title of KCUS. Alongside him, Mai Mijares dominated the women’s side earning her the title of Kansas City’s Ultimate Strongwoman. A7 international provided swag and to all lifters and prizes to the winners of each division. We raised 1000$ with our “Strongman for Adoption” fundraiser and overall it was another great experience for the 20 competitors that gave it there all at The Forge Strength Gym in Lees Summit.
The Strongest Outlaw
The Strongest Outlaw was the first ever meet Centaur Strength hosted meant for novice only athletes and people who wanted to try the sport for the first time. We had classic strongman events like the axle deadlift and stone to shoulder, and we threw in unique twists to the Hercules Hold, crucifix “sword” hold, and an overhead medley that featured a wrecking ball Viking press. We had over 30 competitors and gave out cash prizes to both the men and women divisions. It was a fun event on a very cold January day and everyone had fun and stayed injury free!
