Centaur Strength Events
Our events bring lifters together to celebrate strength, determination, and community, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and shared passion. Whether you’re chasing new records or supporting others, these moments are about pushing limits and thriving together.
The Strongest Outlaw
The Strongest Outlaw was the first ever meet Centaur Strength hosted meant for novice only athletes and people who wanted to try the sport for the first time. We had classic strongman events like the axle deadlift and stone to shoulder, and we threw in unique twists to the Hercules Hold, crucifix “sword” hold, and an overhead medley that featured a wrecking ball Viking press. We had over 30 competitors and gave out cash prizes to both the men and women divisions. It was a fun event on a very cold January day and everyone had fun and stayed injury free!
Kanas City's Ultimate Strongman
This event was the first sanctioned meet Centaur Strength hosted with USS strongman with multiple divisions and all kinds of levels of experience. The meet had five events, the lever deadlift, the max overhead yoke press for the men and the max overhead cambered bar for the women, a “death by grip” medley, a sandbag throw sponsored directly from Cerberus Strength USA.
The final event was the Atlas stone over the bar with the best lift of the day going to Matt Loughner who lifted a 423lb stone over 48” winning him the title of KCUS. Alongside him, Mai Mijares dominated the women’s side earning her the title of Kansas City’s Ultimate Strongwoman. A7 international provided swag and to all lifters and prizes to the winners of each division. We raised 1000$ with our “Strongman for Adoption” fundraiser and overall it was another great experience for the 20 competitors that gave it there all at The Forge Strength Gym in Lees Summit.
